Rock Group “Breaking Benjamin” visits Ballwin Officer in hospital

Ballwin Police Officer Mike Flamion is paralyzed from the neck down after a being wounded July 8 during a routine traffic stop in the 300 block of New Ballwin Road. The suspected shooter, 31-year-old Antonio Taylor, was later arrested and charged with assault of a police officer, armed criminal action, and possessing a firearm as a felon.

On Monday, Ballwin Police Chief Kevin Scott reported that, though Officer Flamion is receiving excellent treatment for wounds to his neck, it is expected that he will require, ” extensive long-term care.”

Prior to a weekend concert at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre, members of the rock band Breaking Benjamin paid a visit to Michael Flamion.

Monday also marks a special ‘Dine Out for Michael Ballwin Police Officer Mike Flamion’ Day, in which several area restaurants will donate part of their proceeds on July 18 to help pay officer Flamion’s medical needs. For a list of participating restaurants visit, Facebook.com/SupportPDFlamion.
