NEW MELLE, MO – New Melle Fire Protection District received a call for a basement fire in the 2000 Block of Foristell Rd. around 8am. Fire crews were able to keep the fire contained to the basement, which saved the remainder of the home. Batt Chief, Mike Scott of the Wentzville Fire Protection District says the cause of the fire is believed to be a wood burning stove. Wentzville and Wright City Fire Protection Districts assisted units on the scene.
