Major Winter Storm Takes Aim On Lincoln, Warren, St. Charles & Surrounding Counties Over The Weekend

A Winter Storm WARNING has been issued by the National Weather Service starting Noon Friday thru 6:00AM Sunday. This is a major winter storm for the St. Louis and metro area.
We will see snow starting late Friday affecting the evening commute. Initially, it could start as a little sleet/rain mix but that should be a brief event.
Moderate snow will fall Friday night into Saturday morning. There could be 4-6 inches on the ground by Saturday morning with an additional two to five inches expected through out the day and evening on Saturday. Snow tapers off and comes to an end early Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service say a Winter Storm WARNING for snow and sleet means that heavy snowfall of 6 inches or more is expected. The rapid accumulation of snow will make travel extremely difficult, if not impossible. If travel is necessary, make sure to exercise extreme caution this weekend.
Travel with a full tank of gas and carry a winter storm kit which includes a shovel, flashlight, cellphone, food and water, and blankets.
