Investigators say a 26-year-old man heard the gunfire and moved to the back to cover three children inside the car. His wife quickly moved to the driver’s seat in an effort to escape the scene. Eventually, she was able to make it to a nearby hospital.

While on the way, the 26-year-old man learned that he sustained a gunshot wound, along with one seven-year-old boy in the car. No one else was hurt. Both the man and boy were treated for injuries to their left shoulders, but are considered to be in stable condition.
