AMBER ALERT issued out of Perryville, MO for 3-year-old boy

PERRYVILLE, Mo. – The Missouri State Highway Patrol has issued an AMBER Alert for a missing child out of Perryville, Missouri.

MSHP reports that three-year-old boy Aziah Laurent is missing. Police described him as having brown hair and brown eyes, but did not disclose any other identifying features.

One man is wanted in connection with the investigation. MSHP says it’s searching for 33-year-old Donald T. Laurent. He is described as white with brown hair and green eyes. MSHP says he has tattoos on both arms and a libra tattoo on his left shoulder.

According to the MSHP AMBER Alert, an abduction of Aziah happened March 19 around noon in Perryville, Missouri.

The MSHP alert states that Donald contacted Aziah’s mother by phone and made credible threats within the last 24 hours. Donald and Aziah may be in or heading to Tennessee or Alabama, per the alert.

The initial alert came in around 1:30 p.m. MSHP says it’s searching for a White 2007 Mercury Grand Marquis with Alabama license plate number 50A242P believed to be linked to the alert.

MSHP says an AMBER Alert is issued when law enforcement officials have a reasonable belief that an abduction has occurred and that there is a credible threat.

Additional details around this alert have not yet been disclosed. FOX 2 will update as more information becomes available.
