Severe storms Thursday may bring hail and high winds

ST. LOUIS — It is a day to stay weather aware. Early morning Thursday thunderstorms to our west are expected to lose some punch as they try to move north and east. But some areas may still see some morning showers.

Strong to severe storms are expected Thursday afternoon and evening for the St. Louis region. These storms are expected to impact the afternoon bus ride and evening commute. Storms may produce large hail, 60-70mph wind gusts, and the possibility of tornadoes. Highs in the 70s ahead of any storms.

Rain and storms will exit off to the east Thursday evening and a north wind will take hold. That will usher in much cooler temperatures for Friday and the weekend. Highs Friday through Sunday will only be near 60. Overnight temperatures will be back down in the 40s.
