ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ill. – FOX 2 is learning of a grim discovery in which two kayakers found human remains in the waters of Frank Holten State Park Friday morning.
Illinois State Police (ISP) were informed about the body in the lake just after 8:30 a.m. When officials arrived at the scene, they pronounced the individual, who was an adult male, deceased around 9:40 a.m.
Coroners have now identified the man as Demontray M. Collins, 25.
According to St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr., Collins last known address was in East St. Louis.
His cause of death has not been made by the Coroner’s Office, as his autopsy isn’t scheduled yet, according to Dye.
An investigation into the 25-year-old’s death is underway, ISP says.
